Nadine Kanso | Future Of Yesterday
April 26th 2016 to June 26th 2016
Cuadro is proud to present Nadine Kanso’s third solo exhibition entitled Future of Yesterday. In the artist’s latest series her gaze is intently set on the enigmatic city of Dubai. Dubai is difficult to define and perhaps that is by design. Analogy’s created by outsiders attempting to describe Dubai’s unique dynamism appear passé almost as soon as they are formed. Nadine Kanso’s latest series of artworks, Future of Yesterday, provides an insiders perspective on Dubai’s evolutionary vitality. Applying exquisite black and white photographs embellished with meticulous collage elements, the artworks are visually minimalistic yet conceptually multifaceted. Nadine’s artwork subtly yet lucidly reveals to the viewer about what was past and is present, while also shrewdly illuminating the not-so-distant future. From the artist’s perspective, “What I see day in and day out are beautiful remnants of the past, the DNA of the city lays all around us, the future is clear.” Future of Yesterday will open on April 26th and be on view until the end of June.
